1. Improves resistance to abiotic stress

Droughts, floods, early frost, excessive heat, cold or salinity are just some of the abiotic stressors responsible for 50-70% of  the yield losses farmers report. 

These stress factors can alter the internal processes of plants, making them more susceptible to pathogens and pests, reducing productivity, growth and survival rate.

2. Improves soil health

Soil health is essential to sustainable and productive agriculture.

Synthetic fertilisers are widely used in agricultural practices today but are a double edged sword. While they boost plant growth and make up for nutrient deficiency in the soil by injecting large amounts of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus, they disrupt activity of microorganisms in the soil and the balance of plant nutrient uptake. Excessive use leads to soil toxicity, decreased soil organic matter and fertility and surface and groundwater contamination which can cause significant harm to the environment and human health.

Stimplus+ restores and maintains agricultural soil health and increases its fertility, while increasing the biodiversity and activity of microorganisms in the soil that are essential to crop health. It contributes to production of organic products while leaving no chemical residues. Long term harm to the soil is decreased because of the reduced need for syntheric and chemical fertiliser.

Nutrient uptake is the mechanism that plants use to absorb nutrients essential for their growth and is key to healthy and efficient plant development. Efficient nutrient uptake contributes to stronger crops that are able to resist environmental stress. Nutritional content of fruit and vegetables are declining because of the lack of available nutrients in the soil.

Biostimulants naturally stimulate the plant’s physiology in order to increase the use of available essential nutrients. These nutrients have a positive effect on the plant’s metabolism, leading to increased fruit size, weight, colour and firmness with more uniformity.

They  do this by stimulating root growth, creating a more robust root system and increasing nutrient uptake efficiency, ensuring that plants can absorb nutrients when they need, despite a lower availability.
